Fellowship/Membership Within ISSVD
At the present time, the ISSVD consists of approximately 200 gynecologists, dermatologists, pathologists, family practitioners, psychologists, sexual counselors, physical therapists, microbiologists, nurse practitioners, and others, all of whom have distinguished themselves in some area of the study of vulvovaginal disease, and are considered capable of and willing to assist the Society in attaining its goals and purposes.
At the ISSVD XIX World Congress in July 2007, a decision was made to broaden the criteria for joining the society. There are now two ways to participate in the Society. You can join the ISSVD as a Fellow or a Member. Both categories are restricted to healthcare professionals. To become a Fellow * or Member, you must have displayed a particular interest in and knowledge of vulvovaginal diseases. Fellows must present a scientific paper at a World Congress. A Member may attain Fellowship, at a future meeting, by making an oral presentation (no poster) at the next meeting of the Society. Both Fellows and Members are expected to attend a minimum of one out of every three World Congress Meetings and pay an annual due of $150 USD.
Fellows:

Members:

Abstract Terminology
The ISSVD is dedicated to improving communication about vulvar diseases. The use of ISSVD-approved terminology, therefore, is critical to the understanding of a candidate's topic.
Candidates should review the pertinent current literature on his or her subject, as abstracts with incorrect terminology will not be accepted. Please refer to the ISSVD Terminology Bibliography on the back page of the
abstract form.
Presentation times are strictly limited so candidates should not spend too much time on introductory material unless it is highly technical. Oral and poster presentations are considered of equal importance and the final format will be determined by the Scientific Program Committee.
